Get ready to slay some monsters, Monster Hunter World is flying in fast, with a PS4/Xbox One bundle, and a limited edition controller (which looks completely awesome!).
Where to begin? I have not played through the Monster Hunter games, but seeing the gameplay from this upcoming release wants me to invest in the other systems just to play through the previous games in the series. One part I am looking forward to is the new limited edition hardware coming out with the game. They will be releasing a PS4 Pro bundle with a custom console, as well as a custom controller with the game. I personally want the controller myself, but as of now, these items are only currently available in Japan, but I have high hopes that they will bring these goodies to the United States.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 on the horizon, let’s look back at Grand Theft Auto V, with Rockstar releasing some new content and bonuses to the game’s online mode.
Grand Theft Auto V is a fun game to play with friends, but after a while, the grind for cash, nice cars, and big guns gets a bit repetitive. I’m grateful that Rockstar is remaining very active with the game, and is constantly being updated with more content, ranging from the Batmobile vehicle, to an orbital cannon used to obliterate enemy players. In my opinion, Rockstar is one of the better developers, just because they like to keep up with their current games, even if they were released five years ago.

So everyone around here knows how PUMPED I am about the fact that we’re not getting 1 but 2 new tennis games this year. Well I EXCITEDLY stand corrected!! We’re getting 3 new tennis games as Nintendo just announced Mario Tennis Aces coming to the Switch this year. I CAN’T TAKE IT!!! They also announced several other awesome looking titles including Donkey Kong.

Although EA just released their new rendition of Battlefront 2, Disney has just released a patch for the original Battlefront 2, including a couple fixes for multiplayer, which was reinstated back in October!
When it comes to Star Wars, I am a HUGE fan! I’m particularly enjoying EA’s new rendition of Battlefront 2, because it feels like I’m playing a native FPS, even though the game’s background is from the PlayStation 2 era of games. I must remember to jump back on the original Battlefront 2, because a patch was released recently that improved the multiplayer experience in the original title, as well as a “reboot” back in October that revived the multiplayer servers for the PS2 and PC. Although the single player modes were excellent, it was great to test your skills against other players, rather than just AI.

From the Wild West, to post-apocalyptic Russia, 2018 is guaranteed to bring a plethora of new games to the spotlight!
I personally am looking forward to Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 because the original release had me wanting more from the series, and with the introduction of this prequel game, I get to learn more about John Marston’s gang that you learned about in Red Dead Redemption. Also, the Metro series was definitely a great view of the post apocalyptic world, and with the story of the main protagonist Artyom, this world can only get more in-depth from here. Since I am a FPS sort of guy, Far Cry 5 has me anxiously awaiting it’s release because this is the first game in the series to take place in America! Although we’ve had very exotic locations, this change-up in locations is enough of a twist for me to have a rooted interest in this addition to the series.
For all you Fable fans, the new Fable 4 has already been announced for development, but no information has been given on who is developing the title. Do you have any speculations?
I’ve only recently gotten into console gaming, but my time with the PS4 has increased my interest in titles I may not have thought about before, one of which is the Fable series. I heard many good reviews about the series, but would have to invest in older consoles in order to play them. Now they are releasing a Fable 4, coming out on these next-gen platforms, which is right up my alley! The main question is: which company is developing this new title? With this being a bit of a reboot to the series, I am unsure whether Microsoft will leave the development of the original dev, Lionhead Studios. Due to so many enhancements since the time of PS3 and Xbox 360, who knows which company will take the bull by the horns, and continue the series.
